HalalMapp ("we," "us," or "our") operates the HalalMapp mobile application and website at halalmapp.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you use Google Sign-In, basic profile information provided by Google (such as your name and profile picture).
- Location data: With your permission, we collect your device's location to show nearby halal restaurants on the map. You can disable location access in your device settings.
- User content: Reviews, photos, halal reports, favorites, and other content you submit through the app.
- Business information: If you claim a restaurant listing, we collect business details you provide, including verification documents.
- Payment information: Business subscription payments are processed by third-party providers (Stripe on web, Apple App Store, or Google Play on mobile). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Usage data: Information about how you interact with the Service, such as pages viewed, features used, and device type.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and app version for security and diagnostics.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Display halal restaurants on the map based on your location
- Enable reviews, favorites, halal reports, and coupon features
- Process business subscriptions and manage restaurant dashboards
- Authenticate your account and prevent fraud
- Send service-related communications (such as account or security notices)

3. Third-party services
We use trusted third-party services to operate HalalMapp, including:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
- Google Maps / Google Places — map display and restaurant data
- Stripe — web subscription payments for business accounts
- RevenueCat — mobile subscription management
- Apple App Store / Google Play — mobile app distribution and in-app purchases
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies. Map and location features require sharing location data with Google when you use those features.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- With service providers who help us operate the Service (under confidentiality obligations)
- When you choose to make content public (such as reviews or halal reports visible to other users)
- To comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of HalalMapp, our users, or the public

5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request account deletion through the app or by contacting us. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention).
